Nimbua Greenfield (Punjab) Limited (NGPL), a special purpose vehicle has been promoted by nine companies of Punjab in collaboration with Punjab Pollution Control Board and Government of India. NGPL was incorporated on 01 March 2004 under Companies Act 1956 for developing a hazardous waste management facility to treat and dispose of hazardous waste generated by various industries in Punjab. The facility is located at village Nimbua, District Mohali and has been operational from 03 Oct 2007. Based on directions given by Government of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, the Company has been converted into a Section 25 company from 24 Nov 2011.

Nimbua Greenfield (Punjab) Limited is contributing in ensuring a cleaner environment in Punjab by disposing of hazardous industrial waste. From the commencement of the project on 07 October till 31 July 2014 we have successfully treated and disposed off 133399 MT of waste in the landfill at the project site.

The facility is being operated under the aegis of M/s Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited. It is a Hyderabad based environment company which has presence in industrial, biomedical and municipal waste management all over India. Ramky was selected to design, execute and operate the Project at Nimbua by a Technical Committee. Ramky is also responsible for post closure maintenance of the site for 30 years.
